Mission

Beyond the Line Theatre Company is a project based theatre whose mission is to create new, movement/imagery-based, physical theatre (and all types of theatre) that permeates our culture and society, and paves the way for a new era of theatre through innovation, creativity, and ensemble.

Company Values

The artists of Beyond the Line believe in breaking down the rules of theatre, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, ability/disability, and performance. We cultivate ourselves as artists, create an environment where everyone is accepted and celebrated for their identities, and accept all ideas and passions as valid and filled with potential.

  • We as a company believe in the value of all kinds of art.

  • We as a company will not be afraid to push boundaries.

  • As a company, we will train our actors, produce all types of theatre, and create game-changing work.

  • Anyone who has finely crafted talents are eligible to work with our company. Diversity and equity for all.

  • Our company will foster not only fantastic performers but also educated creators.

  • Our company will provide extensive work for performers to build impressive resumes.

  •  Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Beyond the Line Theatre Company was first formed as a passion project in 2017 by Artistic Director, Jordan Reynosa. After a few years of planning and developing the philosophy of the company, as well as the goals and plans for what the company would accomplish in its lifetime, (with the help of a small group of students) it had its first successfully realized performance was in August of 2019.

  • The first production Beyond the Line Theatre Company produced was Fictitious People, which premiered in 2019 at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival. Since then, the company has premiered several other shows at the Festival, including The Lady with the Dog (which won the Outstanding Student Production Award voted by the audiences), Clown House (which won the ‘Best of F’ Award voted by the audiences), and Ubu Roi. They’ve also produced various dance projects, which has included two screendances and two dance concerts.

art inspires art.

Beyond the Line Theatre Company believes that all great artists are inspired by other artists and works of art, whether it be theatre, acting, dancing, film, music, sculpture, painting, etc. We believe that we can use what inspires us and create art out of it, while furthering the limits of our art simultaneously.
