Origins

Beyond the Line Theatre Company was first formed as a thought/creative passion project in 2017 by Artistic Director, Jordan Reynosa. After a few years of planning and developing the philosophy of the company, as well as the goals and plans for what the company would accomplish in its lifetime, it was fully formed in the summer of 2019. The companies first successfully realized performance was in August of 2019 at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival, where the devised and written play, Fictitious People, had its world premiere.

The Company

Originally founded by a small group of students at Westminster College, Beyond the Line Theatre is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company focuses on creating devised/new works, while incorporating unconventional theatrical devices and imagery. In addition to producing new works, the company places a focus on each artist's passions and seeks to help develop those ideas and thoughts into their own performances or realities. The company also believes in accessible theatre education, and offers cheap workshops for high schoolers and other young artists.

art inspires art.

Beyond the Line Theatre Company believes that all great artists are inspired by other artists and works of art, whether it be theatre, acting, dancing, film, music, sculpture, painting, etc. We believe that we can use what inspires us and create art out of it, while furthering the limits of our art simultaneously.
